Denise is 25 years old and has been posting this nonsense online since 2000.

today, i:

  • dressed up for work
  • wore high heels
  • felt pretty
  • had raisinets for breakfast
  • drank a LOT of water
  • shared sushi with a new friend during my break
  • drove recklessly while listening to the clash and elvis costello and really didn’t mind that it took me an hour to get home because i had the sunroof open and hooray for sunshiiiinnneeeeeee!
  • worked on my scarf (this pattern with this yarn)
  • had a memorable conversation with maurine which added to the list of random sayings i will send to her via text message
  • had dinner with old friends
  • had a pretty good day
  • I miss my old roommates

Leila: OMG!!!! I did the Wii fit this weekend and i did a balance test.
Leila: and, NO JOKE, the message on the screen from Wii Fit was : “you trip a lot while walking”
Leila: OMG! Matt and I almost died
Leila: the wii fit KNOWS me

And I am sitting here cracking up because we always said that Leila is only coordinated when she is in a square or rectangle. No, Leila seems to be coordinated ONLY on a Dance, Dance Revolution dance pad.

    I’m an old lady.

Maurine: did you only go to kindergarten half days?
    Denise: i don’t remember
Maurine: how can you not remember kindergarten?
Denise: KINDERGARTEN WAS ALMOST 20 YEARS AGO. THAT’S HOW I CAN’T REMEMBER IT.

    I’ll Be Your Mirror

Lately, I’ve been talking to someone who is going through something similar to what I am. Yeah, it sucks that we’re both sad saps, but it’s comforting to hear “I understand.” from someone and believe that person instead of reacting in my usual way (”um. fuckyou.”)

Although, every time I want to tell this person that everything will work itself out or to stop being lazy and work on projects, I think “Why aren’t you doing these things too, Denise??”

    … which probably isn’t a negative thing. i guess.
