I don’t like mermaids.
1. Too girly.
2. When I was little and my cousins and I played The Little Mermaid, my one cousin got to be Ariel every time. The rest of us were the crab, flounder, and seagull. Since then I’ve hated Ariel and her stupid “Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat?” song. The best songs in that movie were sung by the crab and the chef.

… So I really have no idea why I drew one. I guess I didn’t want to draw just another nude model.

The whole mermaid on a buoy idea has been done before, I just couldn’t think of what to place her on. Rocks? BORING. Shell? BORING. That’s another thing I hate about mermaids: the artwork. Perhaps my next one should be the exact same composition, but with a Fiji Mermaid.

I need to get a good copy of this printed since the original doesn’t have the mulberry paper. I’m too chicken to adhere it to the bristol.

- Do you know what a pain in the ass it is to change the main relay of a 1992 Honda Accord? Actually, it’s not a pain in the ass. It’s more like back pain. After two years of looking under the hood to see what was wrong, the problem was right under the driver’s side dashboard. On the upside, my car will start when it’s really hot out. JUST IN TIME FOR AUTUMN.

- My aunt bought be a really nice Coach purse as a graduation gift. She said that I could use it when I go on job interviews. It was a really really nice gesture (I didn’t expect any graduation gifts from my family. I didn’t even expect anything from my dad.) and I don’t want to sound like a bitch, but wouldn’t a giant black portfolio be better for a job interview? It’s about the same or maybe less than the price of the Coach purse… sigh. I would sell the purse and buy the portfolio, but I’d feel really bad.

- I joined NaBloPoMo because I need to blog more and this might motivate me.

- Finally listened to my copy of My Aim Is True. Liked it A LOT. When I listened to his greatest hits album that I got from someone at school, I wasn’t that impressed. Maybe I only like early Elvis. Costello and Presley…

- I opened up an etsy shop because I bought notecards… and then I bought linoleum and block printing ink. Then I bought more cards. The garage is a mess. (http://assemblyline.etsy.com)

- I have an idea that I’m really happy with for my web portfolio… but it requires one giant gradient and I’m trying to find a way to get around that. The code is probably going to be all wrong and it’s not going to be so dial-up friendly, but oh well…

- I really want to see The Darjeeling Limited. Wes Anderson, Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody? Oh my heck. Saw a clip of it on the View today (When did Whoopi Goldberg join that show?). Very amusing.

- Heroes: still good. Grey’s Anatomy: Just watching b/c I’ve been watching since the beginning. Oh Meredith really bothers me. Private Practice: Not watching it. ANTM: my fav so far is Victoria (the girl who’s been talking back and questioning Twiggy during panel)
