Since I am skipping my last class, my weekend starts right now. Here is some weekend music / almost-the-weekend music for you.
Franz Ferdinand – What You Waiting For? (Gwen Stefani Cover)
Tiga – You Gonna Want Me
Parliament Funkadelic – Give Up The Funk
[edit] Celebrated too soon. I take back that festive weekend music, but you can still download and dance if you’d like.
I got my little package from The Regulars today. I signed up for one before spring break, so I’m sure that little envelope was sitting in my school mailbox for that whole week. When the first person blogged about the password that came with their package, I couldn’t wait to see what mine had.
Since I have no scanner or digital camera with me at school, I’ll have to describe now and scan with my roommate’s scanner later. My photo is of a street corner at night with, “The city never sleeps… but it sure does yawn a lot.” written on it. As for my password, I got “_ 7 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _”, which is the same as this one. Boo for not being able to contribute and being useless to these people.
Whip out your music program, click the random button, and pick out 10 songs. Alter the name by turning it into a wordy synonym.
For example: Silent Night = Nocturnal Time Completely Lacking Noise
Try to guess them and who wrote them!
(I cheated. It wasn’t completely random, my titles aren’t very wordy, and i used a lot of definitions from dictionary.com.)

I was eating M&Ms earlier and I realized that the blue M&M has been around for a little over 10 years now. The fact that I can remember that there were tan M&Ms once makes me feel really old. I kind of like the tan ones more than the blue ones. … I wonder why there were no blue M&Ms until ‘95. If the Red & Green M&Ms are plain, the Yellow is peanut, and the Orange is crispy… what is the Blue M&M?
In the previous post, I said something about being out of place at the P-Funk show. I was wrong. There were so many different kinds of people there. College kids, older fans, and people draped in American flags… The only time(s) I felt out of place was in the car. I was the extra person and cramming into the backseat with three other people was difficult. I also didn’t know that I was going to be the only girl among the group. It kind of felt like I was intruding on a boys’ night or something. If I was, they didn’t care. I’m sure I heard “balls”, “suck”, “that’s what she said”, “blow”, and other associated words every hour. I spent about 12 hours total with them today… but, honestly, they were all right.
Parliament-Funkadelic was… incredible. It was very much like my experience with KISS. I only knew about 2 songs, yet they were so fucking entertaining that it didn’t matter. We got there about 7 or 7:30 and seriously spent 5 hours there. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I didn’t have such a long day. It turns out that I left my wallet at school. My dad and I drove back to school at 8:30 and got back around noon. I only had time to shower and change before going to see my cousin’s band play. From there, we went to the Sayreville. I was so tired during the last hour of the show and the only thing keeping me awake was the music.
but I might be seeing George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic in Sayreville next week.
I think I will be very excited and very out of place. I hope 2006 will be filled with these weird concerts. Yellowcard and Mae coming to my school in April, and hopefully, my roommate got tickets for us. I’ve seen Mae before, and I cannot remember what song Yellowcard plays. Do you?
random fact: I had no idea george clinton grew up in Plainfield. i always thought the closest “famous people” from the area were the members of Bon Jovi.
Concert Update:
3/11: Black Water Jam, George Clinton and P-Funk
4/07: Yellowcard and Mae
4/22: The Strokes
Elah (on the phone): You slut!!!
Me: Is that Leila?
