And Then There Were None – Agatha Christie

  1. I read this book about 8 years ago and liked the plot so much that I still make references to it.
  2. Because I haven’t read this in 8 years, I know the basic plot but I completely forgot the details.
  3. Because I forgot the details, I was suprised to find out who was the murderer (again).
  4. I confused the ending of the book with the ending of the movie Clue.

New stuff

New layout or theme.. or whatever. I don’t remember what site I got the theme from, but it’s probably in the code somewhere. oh yeah, the navigation doesn’t work yet.

edit: this has nothing to do with the new layout… it’s more like a random thought. Ever heard “Bargain” by the Who? I’m listening to the song right now (really thinking about the lyrics) and it kind of sounds like a stalker song! I’d gladly lose me to find you / I’d gladly give up all I had / To find you I’d suffer anything and be glad. Yikes. Another song ruined for me. That Aerosmith song “I DOn’t want to miss a thing” is another song with stalker overtones.

Am I the only one who didn’t think that “Lazy Sunday” thing from SNL was OMG THE FUNNIEST THING EVERRRR?

Shoot The Moon – Billie Letts

  1. It kind of had that same Lifetime-y “find out what happened to your mother” feel as The Secret Life of Bees, but I enjoyed this one a lot more because there was more mystery, you learn more about the mom in the story, and the main character wasn’t his mother’s killer, like in Secret Life…
  2. The whole thing with the main character and his love interest was just a bit too creepy for me. Yeah, they’re not blood related, but still… they’re still “cousins”.

Cell – Stephen King

  1. Creepy.
  2. War of the Worlds meets a zombie movie meets a Verizon commercial.
  3. There was something about the ending that I didn’t like. I’ll have to reread it again.
  4. I have to admit that I’m a little scared of my cell phone. (Of course, I’d probably be one of those who wouldn’t be affected. I never charge my phone, I don’t know where it is most of the time, and I text message more than I call because I don’t get reception at school. ;) )

Cell

A few weeks ago, I read a good review of Stephen King’s Cell and I was pretty intrigued. I bought myself a copy yesterday afternoon and I’m about halfway through with it. Yes, it reminds me of every zombie movie I’ve seen, War of the Worlds, and “The Monsters are Due On Maple Street”, but I can’t. stop. reading. it.

Now… if I finish it before the weekend is over, should I return it to Target and buy another book?

“Lighten Up, It’s Just Fashion”

The Project Runway collection photos are up at gettyimages.com. They haven’t revealed the final 3 designers yet, so technically 4 people get to go to Fashion Week. I looked at the photos and I don’t know who I’m rooting for anymore. I think I’ll be happy if Daniel V wins… or (gasp!) Santino. or Chloe. I don’t know.
I chose some of my favorites from each designer. Read the rest of this entry »

i love your friends, they’re all so arty

My favorite class this semester is definitely Interactive Media Design. It’s a bit slow right now because we’re learning all that I knew how to do already in Flash, but every once in a while we learn something new and I get really happy.

This weekend, we have to create a little flash movie demonstrating symmetry. It has to feature music and some kind of geometric shape. I was planning on doing some grand thing to Sigur Ros’ Staralfur or The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony. I had a hard time coming up with something that went along with the music. In the end, I went with this. I think it fits. I hope it fits.

(Crap, I think I uploaded the wrong file. When I was in the Mac lab, the pause at the end of the clip was a lot shorter. Oh well.)

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe – C.S. Lewis

  1. I haven’t seen the movie yet. Maybe I’ll see it when it comes out on DVD.
  2. It’s a good story. I think I’d enjoy it more if I read it when I was young.
  3. I wonder what Turkish Delight tastes like.
