Yesterday, my cousin relieved me from my duties as a bridesmaid in her wedding.

I was not helping enough and apparently gave off a “I’m not committed to this or willing to help out” vibe. I blame the lack of communication. I should’ve kept in touch, but at the same time… how do you know that I’m not willing to help out when you really haven’t asked me for help with anything since the invitations?

What hurts more than that whole “Hey, you suck as a bridesmaid.” thing is the fact that she didn’t even approach or call me to tell me, “Hey, you suck as a bridesmaid. I need you to do more or I’m going with someone else.”   … Nope. None of that. My cousin ( who ended her note with a “in the end, we’re still family…” [insert sneer here] ) instantly replaced me with someone else and let me know via facebook message.

I had a week off after Christmas. I planned to do laundry, clean up, switch bedrooms, mail gifts, exercise, and post random lists about 2009. … I didn’t do any of it. My week off involved Super Mario Brothers for the Wii, lots of good food, lots of movie and tv watching, and sex. So here is the only list I managed to come up with.

It’s been pretty crazy at work. Really crazy. “The phone rings every other second and you barely have time to get your work done or eat or, you know, pee…” kind of crazy.

It all got to me Wednesday night. Around 7pm, I arrived at Jon’s, pulled into a parking space, turned off my ipod, and started to gather my things. When I looked up, Jon was dancing outside the passenger side window. Of course, I didn’t realize it was him. Actually, when I looked up and saw something flailing about, I didn’t think it was human. I sat there and screamed my head off til I realized that it was just Jon. I let him in and then started laughing. And crying… Because this week has been pretty awful and mistaking my dancing boyfriend for a monster was the best part of my week.

His explanation for dancing outside my window was pretty great too. “I thought I might creep you out if I just walked up the window and knocked, so I decided to dance instead.”

Oh. I didn’t completely FAIL at nablopomo on day one or anything…
